Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida under the leadership of Shluchim Rabbi Yitzchok Minkowicz & Shani Silver Welcomes New Shluchim: Rabbi Shalom & Devorah Katz
Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida is delighted to announce the arrival of Rabbi Shalom and Devorah Katz, who have recently joined our team of dedicated Shluchim. Their arrival marks a significant milestone in the continued growth of our vibrant and diverse Jewish community.
Originally from Jerusalem Israel, Rabbi Shalom and Devory bring with them a deep passion for Jewish life, a love for every Jew, and a shared commitment to the Rebbe’s mission of spreading Torah, mitzvot, and the light of Yiddishkeit to every corner of the world. Together, they have already demonstrated exceptional leadership, warmth, and enthusiasm in the communities they’ve served—and now, they’re bringing that same energy to Southwest Florida.
Their work will focus on enriching Jewish life across the region, with a special emphasis on the growing Israeli community, which has seen a remarkable increase in recent years. Through Hebrew language programming, Shabbat dinners, educational events, and personal outreach, the Katzes aim to build strong relationships and deepen Jewish identity for individuals and families from all backgrounds.
“Southwest Florida is a beautiful and welcoming place,” said Rabbi Shalom. “We are excited to become a part of this incredible community, and to contribute to its spiritual growth and unity. We look forward to getting to know everyone, and to creating many meaningful moments together.”
Devorah echoed the sentiment: “Our mission is to be here for every Jew—regardless of background, level of observance, or language. We are especially excited to connect with the local Israeli population and to provide a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels at home.”
As they settle into their new roles, the Katzes are already planning a variety of programs tailored for both adults and children, including holiday celebrations, Torah classes, community service initiatives, and one-on-one learning opportunities.
